Youth (16 – 23)

All youth experience a range of challenges as they transition into adulthood, but youth in foster care and youth with special needs face a unique set of circumstances. They may not have had the same opportunities, experiences and role models as youth in the general population. The health of youth in care and youth with special needs may not be at the same physical, emotional, and mental level as those in the general population. They may have limited education and employment options as they grow older.

The Yukon Child & Youth Advocate Office strives to ensure that youth under the age of 24 receive the services and support they require which contributes to and promotes their overall well-being and increases their potential for healthy and productive independence.
